Luas Green Line service suspended due to power line problem

Due to a technical issue on the route, Luas Green Line services are currently not operating.

The problem was discovered by drivers on Saturday morning and resulted in the complete suspension of service on the Green Line.

Luas technicians have begun inspecting the tram’s overhead lines and all pantographs, according to a statement on Saturday morning, adding that the work will take “several hours”.

Red Line services are operating as usual.

The transport provider apologised for the inconvenience caused and confirmed that all valid Luas tickets will be accepted on Dublin Bus routes for as long as the disruption continues.

Once the repairs are completed, the Green Line will gradually resume service, initially between Brides Glen and St. Stephen’s Green, and later between St. Stephen’s Green and Broombridge.

In addition, Luas staff have been deployed at key stops to assist service users and up-to-date information is also being posted on the Luas website and social media channels.
