Woman arrested after man found injured on street

A woman has been arrested after a man suffered serious injuries in a road traffic accident in Nottingham.

Police were called to Mapperley Road at around 4am (CEST) on Friday because a man was lying in the road and had been hit by a car.

The victim, around 20 years old, was hospitalized, but no further information on his condition was released.

Officers confirmed that a 48-year-old woman was arrested and is accused of causing serious injury through careless driving and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

Police said their investigation was ongoing despite the arrest and asked anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
