Columbus Police Department hires new officer

The Columbus Police Department welcomed its newest officer this week, Thomas “Brandon” Brooks (CPD Badge Number 302).

Columbus Corporate Counsel Alex Whitted swore Brooks in Monday at the city’s Public Works and Safety Committee meeting.

Brooks is a Columbus native and graduate of Columbus East High School. Before joining CPD, Brooks worked as an auto mechanic.

In the coming weeks, he will complete training with CPD instructors before joining four other new CPD officers at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in August.
