Springfield woman charged with possession of crack cocaine after rollover accident

SPRINGFIELD – A single-vehicle crash late Saturday night led to the arrest of a local woman for possession of crack cocaine.

Jamie Zerba, the driver of the overturned vehicle, was arrested following an investigation by Springfield police officers after they responded to a report of a crash on Charlestown Road at Paddock Road at approximately 9:39 p.m.

According to Springfield Police, the vehicle was found lying on its roof in a ditch near Paddock Road.

Zerba managed to exit the vehicle without assistance before police arrived.

While Zerba handed documents to the officers, Cpl.

Perkins noticed a small silicone container in her wallet that she said contained drugs.

During the subsequent search, suspicion of crack cocaine was discovered.

Zerba was taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Springfield Police Department.

She was later released with a summons to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court at 8 a.m. on September 4 to face drug possession charges.
