NEW TONIGHT: ALAMANCE COUNTY DEPUTY ARE INVESTIGATING A FATAL SHOOTING. DEPUTY WERE CALLED TO A HOME ON BEAVER CREEK ROAD NEAR BURLINGTON SHORTLY AFTER 7 THIS MORNING. THEY FOUND THE BODY OF LURDES VEGA. POLICE SAY SHE WAS SHOT. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THE BODY OF HER Estranged HUSBAND, VICTOR VEGA, WAS LATER FOUND ON THE PROPERTY WITH A SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND. DEPUTY ARE ASKING ANYONE WITH INFORMATION

A woman and her husband are dead after a reported murder-suicide, according to officials with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office. Just before 7:15 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a 911 call that shots had been fired in the 3300 block of Beaver Creek Road in Burlington. When they arrived, officers said they found the body of a woman who had been shot. The body, identified as Lourdes Vega, was found in a nearby home, where officials said she had run to escape gunfire. Witnesses said the shooter was Vega’s estranged husband, Victor Vega. A woman and her husband are dead after a reported murder-suicide, according to officials with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, just before 7:15 a.m., officers responded to a call reporting shots fired in the 3300 block of Beaver Creek Road in Burlington.

When they arrived, officers found the body of a woman who had been shot. The body, identified as Lourdes Vega, was found in a nearby home where officers said she had run to escape gunfire.

Witnesses said the shooter was Vega’s estranged husband, Victor Vega.

After the shooting, witnesses told officers that he returned to the house where he lived with his wife.

After the ACSO Special Response Team and drones were deployed, Victor Vega’s body was found in a detached garage of their home.

Officers concluded that he had inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
