Woman suffers life-threatening injuries after being attacked by 8 dogs in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after she was attacked by a pack of dogs in North Portland Monday morning, Portland police said.

Shortly after 8 a.m., officers responded to a medical call near a camp at North Columbia Boulevard and North Upland Drive and said it was “a chaotic scene.”


When they arrived, they found a woman had been attacked by a pack of dogs. While the woman was being attacked, two other people tried to intervene and were also injured by the dogs, officials said.

The woman was taken to hospital, while one of the bystanders was also hospitalized with serious injuries, officials said. The other bystander suffered only minor injuries.

Multnomah County Animal Control subsequently responded to the scene and took into custody the eight dogs believed to be involved in the incident. They are now being held by the agency pending further investigation by PPB and Multnomah County Animal Control.
