1 dead after domestic violence shooting in Washington Twp. – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

WASHINGTON TWP. — UPDATE @ 1:42 p.m.

A man is dead after a domestic violence incident led to a shooting in Washington Twp. on Friday.

News Center 7 continues to follow this story. Starting at 5:00 a.m., we will summarize the latest information on News Center 7.

The shooting was reported around 11:51 a.m. from a home on Dayton-Lebanon Pike near E. Social Row Road.

“At some point during a physical altercation, a gun was drawn and the male half was shot,” said Major Jeremy Roy of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The man, who was only 28 years old, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.

A weapon was seized at the crime scene and a 27-year-old woman was arrested.

At the time of the shooting, two other people were in the house. Both of them, as well as the woman involved in the fight, cooperated with investigators.

Animal control was called to the scene to rescue several dogs that were inside the home.

We are currently awaiting review of possible charges by the Sheriff’s Office.
