One dead and one injured in traffic accident in Bridgeville

BRIDGEVILLE, Delaware – One person was killed and another injured in a car crash in Bridgeville on Wednesday night.

At approximately 1 a.m., a 2017 Dodge Durango was traveling in a northbound lane of Sussex Highway approaching the area of ​​Newtown Road while a 2013 Hyundai Sante Fe was traveling southbound in a northbound lane of Sussex Highway and was in the path of the Dodge. Both vehicles were traveling northbound in the left lane and approaching each other from opposite directions. To avoid a collision with the Hyundai, the Dodge moved into the right northbound lane of Sussex Highway, but the Hyundai did the same, resulting in a crash. The Hyundai overturned before both vehicles came to a stop.

The driver of the Hyundai, 22-year-old Djifenson Dorilus, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

The driver of the Dodge, a 46-year-old man from Millsboro, was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
