Authorities said the gunfire damaged property, adding that no one was injured.

ATLANTA — Authorities are investigating reports of gunfire in northwest Atlanta Friday near the scene of a shooting that killed a 16-year-old boy.

Atlanta police officers were called to a home along Cato Street. Police said so far, no one appears to have been injured; however, there is property damage. Officers have not said what properties were damaged or if they know who fired the shots.

The scene is set in Atlanta’s Grove Park neighborhood, not far from Westside Park. This latest report of gunfire comes days after 16-year-old Jakari Rayshard Brooks was shot and killed in the neighborhood. He is the nephew of Rayshard Brooks, the man who was killed in a 2020 police shooting that sparked days of protests in Atlanta.
