Bunkie man killed in accident in Avoyelles Parish

AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (CALF) – According to Louisiana State Police, a Bunkie man was killed in a traffic accident Friday morning.

LSP said that around 4:30 a.m. on July 19, Joseph McGee, 62, of Bunkie, was driving a 2010 Jaguar westbound on Dewey Bernard Road when he left the road, entered the ditch and began to roll over.

McGee was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
