Columbus police search for missing child

Columbus Police are asking for the public’s help in locating missing and endangered four-year-old Matthew Brown-Giamarco, who was last seen near Eakin Road and Wedgewood Drive in Hilltop.

An Amber Alert was issued at 10 a.m.

Brown-Giamarco is 2 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 45 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. According to the Amber Alert, he was last seen wearing a Paw Patrol shirt, red shorts, and blue tie-dye Crocs.

He is believed to be with his mother Sierra Brown (24) and her boyfriend Ryan Hixon (23). According to CPD, Brown’s first name is also listed as Sarah and Hixon’s first name as Taysen.

Brown-Giamarco’s disappearance stems from a domestic incident and CPD has reason to believe he is in danger. Do not approach Brown or Hixon if seen, but call 911, CPD Officer James Fuqua said.

Global CrowdStrike outage impacts police ability to send Amber Alerts

The global power outage, which continues to wreak havoc on air travel and government traffic, has made it difficult for Columbus police to issue alerts for missing children.

Fuqua confirmed that the ongoing CrowdStrike outage Friday morning, which affected Microsoft PCs in nearly every part of the world, has limited their ability to provide information in at least one missing child case.

“Because of the outage, we are unable to issue an Amber Alert at this time,” Fuqua said. The agency was able to issue a warning shortly after 10 a.m.
