1993 The murder investigation in Saratoga County continues

CHARLTON, NY (NEWS10) — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the murder of 37-year-old Betty Conley. Conley was found dead in Charlton on July 8, 1993.

Conley was found with a gunshot wound to the head at around 3 a.m. at the Xtra Mart at 1958 State Route 67. She was reportedly working as a night shift clerk at the store at the time of her death. Investigators say cash was also stolen from the store’s cash register.


Initial investigation revealed that a mid-1980s white sedan with rust on the driver’s door was parked in the Xtra Mart parking lot at the time. It was also reported that a white male, between the ages of 30 and 35, wearing a peach colored tank top was seen in the area of ​​the crime scene. The man was described as clean shaven, with shoulder length blonde hair and a medium build.
