ATLANTA — A widespread computer outage isn’t just impacting airlines. It also affects several businesses and agencies in the Atlanta metro area.

The outage is related to an issue that blocks access to Microsoft applications and services after Crowd strike, a global cybersecurity company, has released an update.

Here is a list of the items impacted so far. This list will be updated as we go. Channel 2 Action News receives more information.

DeKalb County 911

DeKalb County confirmed it is experiencing issues with some of its computers and is working on fixes. A county news release said the E911 service is still able to receive and dispatch calls.

Emory Health Care

Emory says their hospitals and clinics are open. A spokesperson said

“Procedures at ambulatory surgery centers and hospitals are delayed until our systems are stabilized,” the hospital said in a statement. “Patients are encouraged to use MyChart to manage their appointments.”

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused to patients, families and visitors.”

Georgia Department of Driver Services

A DDS spokeswoman said: Action of channel 2Services are not available statewide. A person who scheduled a road test for Friday can still do so, but will not receive their card until the outage is resolved.

Georgia Aquarium

Online ticket purchases for the Georgia Aquarium have been suspended. The aquarium announced that it will be open today, but visitors who do not yet have tickets will have to purchase them at the main entrance.

Visitors who purchased tickets before the outage do not need to do anything, a Georgia Aquarium spokeswoman said.

MARTA

MARTA’s website and real-time service information system are down. Riders also cannot purchase tickets online, but can purchase them at stations.

Bus, train and tram services are operating normally after some problems earlier on Friday.

“The outage caused some mechanical issues on the trains, resulting in some lost trips, but they are all running smoothly now. There was also a delay in getting alerts to passengers due to the outage,” a MARTA spokeswoman told Channel 2.

Roswell

The city of Roswell’s IT department is struggling to resolve its problems. City phones are down and officials are unable to issue permits or respond to registration requests.

The Roswell Police Department said it is still able to respond to incidents.

“We want to assure you that emergency and police patrol services are uninterrupted and we are always ready if you need us, Roswell.”

Wellstar Hospital

“Wellstar has been impacted by the global IT outage. Our systems are now in the process of coming back online. We remain focused on the health and safety of each patient.
