Man from Bessemer shot and killed late Thursday evening

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WBRC) – A man was killed in a shooting in Bessemer just before midnight Thursday.

Demetrius La Keen Fletcher, 43, was shot at 11:58 p.m. in the 1900 block of 10th Avenue North

Fletcher’s death was pronounced at the scene of the accident at 00:24

Bessemer police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
