Three people charged in months-long drug investigation in Trigg County

TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) – Three people have been charged following a months-long drug investigation in Cadiz, the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Sheriff Aaron Acree said the investigation led to the obtaining of a search warrant for a home on West End Street, where officers found two ounces of marijuana, weapons, several prescription drugs and two and a half ounces of meth.


During the investigation, Chris Smith and Chandra Whetstine were arrested on charges of meth trafficking within 1,000 feet of a school, meth possession, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

Additionally, Smith was charged with possession of marijuana and prescription drugs in improper containers, according to the sheriff’s office.

Ashley Combs was at the home at the time the warrant was executed and, according to police, she was charged with both possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.

“The investigation is being led by Deputy CJ Ahart and Sergeant Rob Schnieder,” the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. “Sheriff Acree would like to thank the Cadiz Police Department and Trigg County Constables Office, as well as Animal Control Steve Skinner for their assistance in this investigation.”
