Epic Church KC informs congregation about Bobby Hawk investigation and future of church

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Multiple sources have shared copies of an email from Caitlin Knute of KSHB 41 that Epic Church KC sent to its members.

In it, the church says that both law enforcement and the Southern Missouri Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God are investigating allegations against former senior pastor Bobby Hawk.

The letter also confirms that another church, Summit Park Church, is “seriously considering purchasing the monumental church property and reopening the site as a new campus.”

This all comes after several women came forward to accuse Hawk of inappropriate behavior.

He denied this in his letter of resignation to the board.

This letter was shared in the email to church members.

In it, Hawk says, among other things: “Although these allegations are untrue, (my wife) and I have come to the decision after much prayer and reflection that it is time for me to step down from my role as senior pastor.”

Last week, a group of women announced plans to file a civil lawsuit.

One of the women, a local lawyer, told KSHB 41 that since their press conference, other women have joined them.

No charges have been filed against Hawk so far.

Blue Springs police told KSHB 41 they could not provide us with any information due to the ongoing investigation.

However, police have asked anyone with information to come forward.

As for Hawk and EPIC Church KC, they have not responded to our attempts to reach them.
