North Carolina Department of Health issues alert on recalled Diamond Shruumz products

RALEIGH, NC (WITN) – The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has issued a warning on Facebook following the recall of Diamond Shruumz brand gummy bears, wafers and candy bars.

The Ministry of Health stated that consumers who became ill after consuming these products reported severe symptoms, including seizures, central nervous system depression (loss of consciousness, confusion, drowsiness), agitation, abnormal heart rate, hyper/hypotension, nausea and vomiting.

Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes re-shared the NCDHHS Facebook post and commented, “This garbage is being sold in vape and tobacco shops throughout Craven and surrounding counties.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says Diamond Shruumz branded products have been recalled and should no longer be offered for sale. These products were available online and in various retail stores across the country, including smoke/vape shops and retailers that sell hemp products such as cannabidiol (CBD) or delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-8-THC).

The FDA is aware that Diamond Shruumz brand products recalled as of July 16 were still available for sale.

The FDA urges all purchasers of Diamond Shruumz products to avoid consumption and to contact their local health department if they experience any adverse symptoms.
