2 people arrested in California for shooting and killing man in North Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – North Las Vegas police charge two men with shooting a man in October 2023.

Police said the fatal shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, in the 4200 block of East Craig Road. When officers arrived, they found two men in their 20s suffering from gunshot wounds.

When paramedics arrived, they said one of the men died at the scene, while the other was taken to UMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested 41-year-old Marcus Raynard Smith Jr. and 37-year-old Kalife Khayon Ayers as suspects in the case. They were taken into custody in California and are now being held at the North Las Vegas Community Correctional Center, where they face open murder and attempted murder charges.
