2 people arrested after several dogs were found with mange in the city kennel

CENTER, Texas – Two Center residents have been arrested for animal cruelty.

Robert Lindley and Christal Lindley were arrested after an investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office revealed inadequate living conditions at a local dog kennel operated by the Lindleys.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, at least one animal died at the facility and most of the animals housed in the kennel appeared to be suffering from mange and malnourished due to inadequate ventilation.

About 14 dogs will be handed over to Nicolas Pet Haven, a Tyler-based animal rescue organization, the press release said.

Both are being held in the Shelby County Jail.
