Man from Chile convicted of child sexual abuse

A Monroe County man found guilty of sexually abusing a child faces 18 years to life in prison.

Desmond O’Neill, 38, was convicted in June of sexual assault of a child and child endangerment.

Prosecutors accuse O’Neill of abusing a child he knew in Chile between 2017 and 2020.

He was also accused of endangering another victim.
