Boy reported missing from resort near Disney World found dead in water

ORLANDO – A 3-year-old boy reported missing early Thursday from a resort near Walt Disney World in central Florida was found dead several hours later in a body of water on the resort’s grounds, the sheriff’s office said.

It was initially believed that the boy had run away from the resort sometime in the morning, but that afternoon his body was found by officials in the water on the resort grounds, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said on social media.

Further details were not immediately released. In a missing person report, the boy was described as autistic and wearing pajama pants.

“Our investigators are still investigating how this tragedy occurred,” the sheriff’s office said. “We mourn his loss and our prayers are with his family.”
