Teenager arrested after shooting

On Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 6:54 p.m., Norwalk Police received multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired at the Roodner Court public housing complex at 261 Ely Ave. Patrol officers arrived on scene and found evidence that shots had been fired. While on scene, officers received information that a 15-year-old victim had been dropped off at Norwalk Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Norwalk detectives took over the investigation and collected enough evidence to charge a 16-year-old juvenile with the shooting. The juvenile was transported to the juvenile detention center.

The case is not yet closed. The arrested youth faces charges of assault of the first degree, reckless endangerment of the first degree, illegal carrying of a pistol and illegal discharge of a firearm.
