THP publishes report on Huss accident | News

The motorcycle was traveling westbound around 8 p.m. when it “lost control and overturned,” according to the report. Huss was ejected from the vehicle and landed under a guardrail while the motorcycle slid back into the lane.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident and the preliminary report does not contain any information about what may have caused Huss to lose control of the motorcycle.

The Sevier County firefighter had worked first as a volunteer and then part-time for more than a year and became a full-time firefighter in March, said Pigoen Forge Fire Chief Tony Watson.

Huss was remembered for his strong faith and was active in several local churches.

Watson said earlier this week that Huss’ family was planning a memorial service for him and asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Aaron Huss Memorial Fund at Citizens National Bank.

Huss’ family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the West Chapel of the Atchley Funeral Home in Sevierville. Following the visitation, family and friends will depart in procession to Atchley’s Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, where a memorial service and interment will be held at 3 p.m. Pastor Robert Sutton will officiate and firefighter honors will be provided by the PFFD.

The family will hold a memorial service following the funeral at 5:30 p.m. at Summit Church in Pigeon Forge.
