Police officer attacked by knife attacker on the Champs Elysees

A police officer was injured in an attack in Paris’ 8th arrondissement on Thursday after security guards called the police from a store.

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said in a social media post that the attacker had been incapacitated by police.

Paris police said the incident occurred in the famous Champs Elysees shopping district.

Local television reported that the attacker was armed with a knife. Television footage showed armed police cordoning off the famous street.
