The 42nd annual Subaru Buffalo 4-Mile Chase will take place on Friday

Buffalo, New York (WBEN) – The 42nd annual Subaru Buffalo 4-Mile Chase will take place Friday night at 7 p.m., starting on Elmwood Avenue at Bidwell Parkway. The race has attracted approximately 35,000 participants from 30 different countries and all 50 states over its history. Runners can register at 11 a.m. Friday morning at Bidwell Parkway.

SUNY Niagara received a $50,000 grant from the Lumina Foundation after participating in an Instagram contest. Colleges and universities across the country were invited to submit 90-second Instagram videos about what makes their school great. SUNY Niagara, formerly NCCC, is one of seven schools nationwide to receive the grant.

Como Lake Bark Park in Lancaster is seeking photos for its annual dog calendar. A total of 13 dogs will be featured, with the most popular dog, as voted on by the public, appearing on the calendar’s cover. The other 12 will be included inside. You can submit a photo at gogophotocontest.com/comolakebarkpark for a fee of $5. Submissions are due Aug. 2.
