EFFECTS: Daily offshore wind storms will return by the weekend. But that will combine with a deepening upper-level trough to the northwest by Saturday, which will produce isolated showers. Increased wind shear aloft will also favor severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Combine that with the weekend and many events on the First Coast, and there will be some impacts to weekend plans.

NEED: Drive slowly on the roads and be aware of heavy rain and aquaplaning. Be aware of thunder and be able to seek shelter if a storm is approaching. News from First Coast App is useful for tracking our live radar and receiving severe weather warnings directly.

Additional comments: There will continue to be daily thunderstorms on Thursday, Friday and Sunday, although not quite as extensive as on Saturday.
