Man charged with crime after state police investigation

A Licking man faces charges after the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated a crash in May.

Joshua D. Baldwin, born in 1979, is charged with driving under the influence (aggravated driving, a Class D felony) and driving on the right side of the road following a May 10 crash on Highway BB near Decker Road, police said.

When an officer arrived, he found a white Ford F-250 lying on its side next to the roadway. Baldwin told the officer he swerved to avoid a deer.

A breathalyzer test conducted at the Texas Cunty Jail revealed a blood alcohol level that was more than three times the legal limit of 0.251 percent, a report said.

The District Attorney filed charges on July 17. Bail is set at $2,000 cash.
