1 dead after crash in Atoka County

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, one person was killed in an accident that occurred near Atoka on Wednesday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said it was called to the scene of the accident around 9:40 a.m. on U.S. 75, about 2 miles west of Atoka.

According to OHP, two vehicles were involved. One was a pickup truck and the other was a semi-trailer.

The driver of the pickup, 41-year-old Zachariah Hale, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the semi-trailer, 61-year-old David Boone, suffered no injuries.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, but OHP said Hale’s vehicle was not wearing seat belts.
