Tracking the probability of isolated rain and storms over the weekend

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Precipitation chances will remain high throughout the weekend, so temperatures will drop. Highs will be in the 30s to 35s degrees F Friday through the weekend. Precipitation chances will increase by 50-60% daily throughout the weekend, and the weather pattern will remain consistent through early next week.

Today it will be hot and humid again. There may be isolated rain and storms, and sun and clouds are expected during the day. The lowest temperatures will be 21 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy skies and persistent rain showers.

The weather pattern will remain more active and stagnant through the weekend, meaning increased humidity and the possibility of isolated rain and storms are expected each day.

This is all thanks to a boundary working its way into the region and coming to a standstill. This will result in higher rainfall amounts in the region over the weekend, but in turn will lower our temperatures.

In fact, highs Friday afternoon will be a little lower, around 90 degrees under a partly cloudy sky. Lows will also be in the low 70s during this period.

Due to the heat and humidity, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible each afternoon this weekend.

As is typical in summer, some areas will experience heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds during the storm, while other areas will remain dry, hot and humid.

Since no major weather changes are expected in the near future, the forecast will remain the same over the weekend and early next week. Highs of between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius are expected, there may be humidity, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible and lows of 21 degrees Celsius.
