One dead, one in custody after shooting in Iron County

CANARRAVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — One man is dead and another is in custody following a shooting in Kanarraville Wednesday night.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office said officers arrived at the scene in Kanarraville shortly after 7:50 p.m. Wednesday. Officers said two adult males were involved in the incident.

“Tragically, one man was shot and has been confirmed dead,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “The other man involved was taken into custody for questioning.”

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and poses no threat to the public.

The sheriff’s office did not provide further information on the ages of those involved or the possible causes of the shooting. Officials said they would release more information the next day.
