Man seriously injured after accidental shooting outside house in Madera, police say

MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) — A man is in the hospital after being accidentally shot in the backyard of a Madera home Wednesday night.

The shooting occurred around 7:20 p.m. in the Washington and Vineyard area.

According to Madera police, a woman accidentally shot the 30-year-old man, seriously injuring him.

He was taken to hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

According to authorities, the woman stayed home after the shooting and cooperated with the investigation.

The police did not provide any further details about the events that led to the firing of the weapon.
