ATLANTA, Georgia – The NC State track and field team opened the postseason with three athletes earning a personal best in their respective events and one earning All-ACC honors on the first day of the 2024 ACC Outdoor Championships in Atlanta.

Junior Amaris Tyynismaa finished first in the women’s 10,000m final with a time of 33:42.57 to win the gold medal and earn first-team All-ACC honors.

The pack also allowed three members to earn a place in the finals of their respective events: Grace Hartman, Sam BushAnd Xavier Branker.

After the first day, the Wolfpack Women placed fifth in the team results with a total of 11 points.

The Pack will continue the action on Friday, May 10 in Atlanta starting at 3 p.m. in the women’s shot put.

1500m Women – PRELIMES

  • Grace Hartman recorded a personal best time of 4:15.17 to finish fourth and advance to the final

  • Sam Bush clocked 4:15.35 to finish fifth and advance to the final alongside Hartman

  • Hannah gapes placed 12th with a time of 4:24.39

  • Kate Putman recorded a time of 4:30.16 to finish 23rd

  • Nevada Mareno finished the race with a time of 4:33.54 and placed 26th

10,000m Women – FINALS

  • Amaris Tyynismaa was crowned ACC champion after finishing first with a time of 33:42.57 and earned first-team All-ACC honors

400 m hurdles men – PRELIMES

  • Xavier Branker finished fourth with a time of 51.47 to qualify for the final

200m Men – PRELIMES

  • Kyron Parker set a new personal best with a time of 21.56 and finished 17th in the race

  • Myles Epstein placed 18th in the preliminary round with a time of 21.65

1500m Men – PRELIMES

Men’s 10,000m – FINALS

  • JJ Malach was the best finisher in the peloton placing 11th with a time of 30:12.26

  • Toby Gualter recorded a time of 30:18.45 to finish 14th

  • Dan McGoey placed 23rd in the event with a time of 30:38.27
