Man accused of attempted murder arrested for violating release conditions in court | News, Sports, Jobs

A local man wanted for violating his restraining order was arrested by Marshalltown police on charges of attempted murder, two counts of willful assault and assault with the use of a dangerous weapon shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Ktwo Esa, 21, of Marshalltown, was taken into custody on a warrant for violating his pretrial release. Esa was taken to the Marshall County Jail where he awaits his first appearance.

In December 2023, MPD officers and medical personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of North 1st Avenue for a reported assault. A 30-year-old woman reported that a man came to her residence and began attacking her with a baseball bat, striking her on the arms and head. A 75-year-old passerby witnessed the attack, intervened, and was also struck on the arm with the baseball bat.

The investigation revealed that Esa was a suspect. A search warrant was executed for 549 North 3rd St., Esa was located and taken into custody.
