Cyclist killed in Rittenhouse crash, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are investigating after several cars were involved in a fatal crash downtown on Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred on 18th Street near Spruce Street, just a few blocks from Rittenhouse Square.

According to police, a cyclist was killed when he was hit by a speeding car.

Police told NBC10 that the driver was an elderly man. He was taken to a nearby hospital and no charges have been filed against him.

Spruce Street remains closed at 18th Street while the investigation continues.

SkyForce10 was above the scene where three limousines are seen. One car is on the sidewalk and looks like it crashed into the stairs of a house.

A second car is lying with its rear end on the sidewalk, with visible damage to the trunk.

A third vehicle is parked on the road in the opposite direction with its front dented.

The identity of the cyclist is currently unknown.
