Also in the spotlight will be the government’s action plan to strengthen the Halal industry in line with Malaysia’s goal of becoming a leader in the international Halal market, with a Halal export target of RM63.1 billion by 2025. This issue will be referred to the Prime Minister by Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan (BN-Kuala Pilah).

Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh (PH-Ledang) will question the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation on the ministry’s efforts to address the problem of microplastics, which poses a threat to water sources and supplies.

During the question and answer session, Young Syefura Othman (PH-Bentong) will ask about steps on how teachers and students can optimize the use of digital tools in teaching and learning under the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (DELIMa).

In addition, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Baru) will question the Home Minister on studies and roundtable discussions on the proposal to decriminalise drug abuse, which will have implications for public safety.

Kamal Ashaari (PN-Kuala Krau) will question the Ministry of Finance on the government’s efforts to increase government revenue beyond tax collection and targeted subsidies, and whether the government intends to reinstate the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

After the question-and-answer session, the Minister is expected to table a motion in the Prime Minister’s Office to suspend Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) from the Dewan Rakyat and the Parliamentary Special Committee for six months.

This follows his statement during the debate on the Malaysian Human Rights Commission (Suhakam)’s 2021 and 2022 annual reports and financial statements on July 1 regarding a poison letter that went viral and allegedly contained information about the real mastermind behind the Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) takeover. — Bernama
