Now FOX13 is hearing from Shavawna Murray’s mother. Murray was with the other two women, Trevino and Victoria Pugh, when the shots were fired. Murray’s three-year-old daughter was also in the car. The three-year-old was the only person to survive the shooting.

Murray’s mother, Rita Finnie, told FOX13 that the child remembers everything that happened and was questioned extensively by investigators. The young girl told her grandmother that she heard the gunshots and tried in vain to wake her mother afterward.

Pugh, a close friend of Murray’s, pushed the child to the ground and covered the girl during the shooting, Pinnie told FOX13. Pinnie said the young girl was found covered in blood when police arrived.
