Two people were found dead in a shooting in Morris Heights

A man and a woman were found fatally shot in Morris Heights on Thursday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

According to police, the shooting happened just after 1:30 p.m. The two victims were discovered with gunshot wounds to the head inside the building at 1967 Davidson Avenue.

There were no arrests. There is currently no information about the relationship between the two victims.

According to police, the male victim is 24-year-old Monroe Tillman.


The female victim is 22-year-old Emely Morales. Both residences are listed by the NYPD as 1697 Davidson Avenue, where they were both discovered.

Local residents were shocked by the incident.

“I couldn’t have even imagined something like this would happen and I feel sorry for … both families,” said neighbor Greta Love.

Law enforcement sources tell News 12 they are investigating the possibility of a murder-suicide.
