Illinois woman arrested in connection with investigation into negligent homicide of child

FAIRFIELD, Ill. (KFVS) – An Illinois woman was arrested after reportedly leaving her children in a car for several hours.

According to the Illinois State Police, the ISP Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 along with the Fairfield Police Department announced the arrest of 36-year-old Adreian DA Hooper of Fairfield, Illinois.

On July 14, ISP was requested by the Fairfield Police Department to assist in the investigation of the death of a 1-year-old boy and the serious injury of a 2-year-old boy. According to ISP, both children were left in a vehicle for several hours. The Child Death Investigative Task Force was then activated.

On July 16, after a thorough investigation, the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office charged Hooper with manslaughter, endangering the life of a child – death, reckless conduct and endangering the life of a child.

She is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail.
