Louisville man arrested for threatening to blow up bar

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky – A Louisville man is facing felony charges after police say he threatened to blow up a bar and kill everyone inside out of contempt for gays, ethnic groups and the homeless.

According to an arrest warrant, 24-year-old Trey Edward Anderson was arrested Tuesday and charged with terroristic threats after posting videos on social media targeting the Whirling Tiger on Story Avenue. He pleaded not guilty Wednesday and a judge ordered him to stay off social media and banned him from having any contact with the bar and its employees.

According to Louisville Metro Police, Anderson posted videos on social media last Friday in which he said he was going to an event at the Whirling Tiger and planned to carry out a bomb attack there and “kill everyone due to his stated bias against ethnic groups, LGBTQ people and the homeless.”

According to police, he also sent messages on Instagram with similar language. Throughout the threats, Anderson used “derogatory language” toward these groups of people.

Anderson said he would “smash their heads in” and would prefer to “stomple” the homeless people’s brains on the concrete.

The bar was closed over the weekend but has now reopened.
