Police investigate shooting in Carbondale | News

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) – Officers in Carbondale responded to the 500 block of South Rawlings where they reported a shooting occurred Thursday evening.

Police alerted the public to the shooting at 6:52 p.m. and asked everyone to avoid the area.

Almost two hours later, at 8:48 p.m., they alerted the public again, the scene update was clear and more information will follow.

One of our crew members stated that ambulances and several police units were on scene.

Carbondale police said the investigation is ongoing.
