Two boys stabbed in downtown Buffalo; police open investigation

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Police have launched an investigation after two young men were stabbed in downtown Buffalo on Wednesday.

The stabbing happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday near Main and Mohawk streets. Central District officers arriving at the scene found two men who, according to a Buffalo police spokesperson, “were stabbed in connection with a fight involving other people.”

A person is being questioned by police about what happened.

The two boys were taken by ambulance to Oishei Children’s Hospital, where they are being evaluated. One of the boys is in critical condition, and the other is being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

A knife was found at the scene, police said.
