130 political campaign signs stolen from properties in Howell Township

Howell Township police are investigating the theft of more than 100 political campaign signs in the city.

Authorities say about 130 “Leggio for Mayor” signs were stolen from various locations last month and dumped in dumpsters behind Ramtown Plaza.

According to police, a Toyota Camry was used in the thefts.

John Leggio is one of three Republican candidates vying to become the city’s next mayor after Democrat Theresa Berger announced she will not seek re-election in November.
