3 people arrested in Miami-Dade prostitution investigation – NBC 6 South Florida

Three people were arrested and face charges following investigations into neighborhood brothels, human trafficking and money laundering, authorities said.

Omar Jaimes, 43, Elizabeth Tovar, 41, and Yasdid Paul Ortiz, 52, are all charged with money laundering, organized crime and prostitution. Tovar is also accused of human trafficking.

According to the court’s statement on Wednesday, Jaimes served as security at the brothels and was observed by undercover agents driving Tovar to make deposits and transactions at Western Union.

Officials including the Miami-Dade County District Attorney, the Department of Homeland Security and the Miami Gardens Police Department will provide further details at a press conference on Wednesday.

Jaimes and Ortiz are being held on $517,500 bail. Tovar’s bail is set at $527,500.
