Brunswick County Sheriff: Body of missing woman found, investigation ongoing

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after the body of a missing woman was found.

According to information posted on the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, officers received a call Tuesday morning regarding a possible missing woman in a wooded area off Colonial Landing in Bolivia.

Multiple agencies responded and searched the area. The sheriff’s office said search crews found the body of 32-year-old Alba Jo Doreen Wade around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office said there is no danger to the public.

The sheriff’s office said more than 15 agencies from Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties assisted in the search.
