Manhattan man killed in car crash in northeast Kansas

WICHITA, Kansas (KSNW) – A 46-year-old Manhattan man was killed in a traffic accident in Washington County Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 36, about five miles east of Cuba.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Brian L. Dowling of Manhattan was driving a Chevy Silverado eastbound on the highway and attempted to pass. He failed to pull back over and crashed into a westbound semi-truck.

Dowling was killed in the accident. The driver of the semi-trailer truck was uninjured.
