A Houston-area worker accused of assaulting a co-worker and leaving him in critical condition was arrested Tuesday on a charge of aggravated assault, according to the Galveston Police Department.

Galveston police officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Seawall Boulevard just after 1 a.m. Monday after receiving reports of a man lying on the sidewalk, according to the police department.

“Upon arrival, officers located a man who appeared to have been struck multiple times, suffering from head and facial injuries,” according to a Facebook post from the police department.

The injured man, who has not been identified by the department, was taken to an island hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Police arrested Trevor Tedore, 24, in League City on Tuesday on charges of assaulting the man. He was booked into the Galveston County Jail on $200,000 bail.

The linemen were working in Galveston to make power line repairs after Hurricane Beryl and were staying at a nearby hotel, according to the police department.
