Brookline Police Arrest Suspect in Open and Gross Lewdness Investigation – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BROOKLINE, MASS. (WHDH) – On Sunday, Brookline police arrested 68-year-old Darryl Breen in connection with an investigation into open and gross indecency related to an incident in June.

The suspect, believed to be Breen, was captured on surveillance video in connection with the June 22 incident. The cameras also recorded images of a vehicle involved in the incident, which a patrol officer saw on Sunday and identified as the suspect vehicle.

“The officer conducted a traffic stop and the driver presented an identification that was later determined to be false,” police said in a statement. “Despite the false identification, the officer developed reasonable suspicion that the driver was in fact the suspect wanted in connection with two separate open and rough incidents in Brookline.”

The man, later identified as Breen through his fingerprints, was arrested. Police said Breen was in possession of a stun gun, an air rifle and two pairs of handcuffs at the time of his arrest.

Officers also discovered that Breen had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Florida.

“The information gathered indicated that Breen was likely active in the Brookline, Allston and Back Bay areas of Boston, and we believe there have been additional victims of similar incidents in recent weeks that may or may not have been reported to authorities,” police said.

Breen will be held in custody for 20 days and will have to appear in court again in August.

If you recognize this person and believe you may have been a victim, please contact the Brookline Criminal Investigation Division at 617-730-2244 or the police department in the jurisdiction of the incident.
