Huntington Beach police shoot and injure man

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — An investigation was underway after police shot and wounded a man near a gas station in Huntington Beach overnight.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday near Goldenwest Street and Heil Avenue, according to Huntington Beach police.

Investigators said officers responded to a 911 call and came into contact with a man. At least one officer opened fire, hitting the man.

Further information on what sparked the shooting is not available, but the Orange County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. No one else was injured.
