Police hunt man after woman raped near church

Police are investigating after a woman reported being raped near a church.

Officers said the victim, who is in her 20s, was attacked by a man in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, on Thursday.

The offense is said to have taken place near St James’ Church, in Oxford Road, at about 22:40 BST.

Det Insp Dominique Muldoon said the victim was being supported by specially trained staff as “fast-time inquiries” continued.

Thames Valley Police appealed for any witnesses to urgently contact the force.

Officers particularly wanted to see dash cam footage from drivers who were on the A40 around the time of the incident.

“I would urge anyone who believes that they witnessed this incident or has any information that may assist the investigation to please call us,” Mr Muldoon added.
