Russia launched airstrikes on seven towns and villages in Kharkiv Oblast last day – Gwara Media

UKRAINE, KHARKIV REGION, July 17 – Over the past day, Russian troops have launched airstrikes on Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Mali Prokhodi, Starytsia, Vovchansky Khutory and Veterinnarne in Kharkiv region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported at its morning briefing.

Russia launched its new offensive in the north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have since stabilized the front line in this sector. Heavy fighting is currently taking place in and around Vovchansk (five kilometers from the border and 74 kilometers from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six kilometers from the border and 20 kilometers from Kharkiv).

The General Staff reports that Russia has attempted seven times to advance towards Kharkiv near Hlyboke and Vovchansk.

The Russian military attempted to break through nine times in the direction of Kupiansk. There, Ukrainian troops repelled attacks near Synkivka, Andriivka, Pishane, Berestove and Stepova Novoselivka.
